JOY Ministry

Celebrating our uniqueness and differences.
The JOY Ministry is being developed to assist in the building of an inclusive culture at FBC. Our desire is to assure the equal participation of all members regardless of disability or other needs (1 Cor. 12:12-26). Our ultimate goal is to help our church culture be one that includes and accepts all members, and treats each other with the respect and love that Jesus expects of us ( John 13:34-35; Gal. 5:13-14).

Mission

The mission of the JOY Ministry is to promote and facilitate an inclusive community at FBC that provides resources for the discipleship of individuals with disabilities and recognizes the contribution that all believers bring to the church family.

Primary Objectives:

• To provide an environment that intentionally and actively encourages spiritual growth in the lives of all persons attending FBC.
• To develop and equip leaders to effectively minister to those with intellectual and/or physical disabilities and their families.
• To communicate and interact with care givers in order to assist them in discipling .

Serving and Volunteering:

We desire to recruit people who desire to serve and minister to those in our congregation that may be in need of assistance and/or accommodations. Training and resources are often available via current Joy Ministry volunteers in order to equip those desiring to serve in many areas within the disability community attending our church.

Our goal is to recruit sufficient Joy Ministry members so that serving for one or two hours or Sundays per month is achieved; and consequently, allowing those members to be able to worship and attend learning center during other Sundays.
