Ministry Opportunities with Fellowship Kids

DESCRIPTIONS OF MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES 

Infant/Crawler Room Teacher: Create a relaxed, quiet environment to allow babies to sleep and to not become over stimulated when they are playing.  Must display gentleness and age-appropriate knowledge in all interactions.  Age-appropriate books and toys are available to use during playtime.  Responsible for diaper changes, changing the trash, placing used linens in the laundry basket, cleaning up the room, and disinfecting the room before leaving. Teachers should be in the classroom no later than 15 minutes before class begins.  

Toddler Room Teacher: Create a fun, safe, and creative environment to allow children to explore the world around them as they make new friends.  Children will have plenty of time for free play, snack, Bible songs, and curriculum.  Toddler teachers will be working with the “Story Hour” curriculum or Jesus Storybook Bible.  Short lessons are planned and provided for you each week.  Responsible for diaper changes, changing the trash, cleaning up the room, and disinfecting the room before leaving. Teachers should be in the classroom no later than 15 minutes before class begins.  

Preschool Teachers:  Prepare and teach a Bible lesson from the teaching book and materials provided by the children’s ministry coordinator.   Provide a loving, caring and safe environment to enrich the development and relationship with the children.  Teachers should be able to relate the Bible story in a manner that is age appropriate for the age of the children.  We ask that the teacher arrive to class no later than 15 minutes before the start of class.

Preschool Helpers:   Assist the teacher throughout the class with various tasks.  Including but not limited to,  preparing any crafts, playing with children, assisting with snack, encouraging quite during story time.  Helpers should also provide a safe environment and establish relationships with the children through engaging in positive ways during class time.  We ask that the helper arrive to class no later than 15 minutes before the start of class.

Preschool Substitutes:  Be available on an as needed basis when the teacher or helper are not able to serve.  They will be expected to fill the role of  either teaching the class or providing assistance to the teacher during the morning.

Elementary Teachers:  Study, prepare, and teach a weekly Bible lesson from the curriculum provided by the Fellowship Kids Ministry.  We ask for a weekly commitment during the school year, late August, until early June, with substitutes available to teach when necessary.   Develop relationships with the children in their classroom during the year by being consistent, caring, and showing and sharing the Love of Jesus to them through words and interaction with them.  Teachers should be in the classroom no later than 15 minutes before class begins.  

Elementary Helpers:  Assist the teacher before and during class time with any details that are necessary for a calm, loving, friendly, and God-centered classroom environment;  this will include greeting children as they enter the classroom, assimilating craft items, and assisting children during class time as needed.  
 
Elementary Substitutes:  Be available (“on-call”) as a teacher or helper in the event that the regular teacher is unable to fulfill their responsibilities on a particular Sunday morning.   Prepare the Bible lesson ahead of time and teach from the curriculum provided by the Fellowship Kids Ministry.   Demonstrate the love of Jesus to children by your caring, compassionate concern for them through your words and interaction with them.
